Aviator Allstars and Leeds Celtic Cheerleaders will be performing
stunts and human pyramids in Leeds City Centre in order to raise awareness
of the sport and to get more young people active and fit.
The founders, Rachel Pearson and Tim Peffers, having taken the Leeds
University Cheerleading team to over 15 national and European titles,
are now focusing on getting children from the ages of 4 upwards involved
with the sport and fit through the various disciplines of cheerleading
such as dance, gymnastics, acrobatics, stunting and aerobics.
In order to raise awareness of this often misconstrued sport and the
public excited about this project, Aviator Allstars and the Leeds University
Cheerleading team will be putting on stunting displays from 10:00 am
to 4pm at The Light Shopping Centre in Leeds city centre on Saturday
the 20th of September 2008.
The demos will be advertising the Aviators' introductory free sessions
over the coming weeks and months at various locations throughout the
Leeds area, starting with Middleton Leisure centre on Monday the 22nd
of September and with other dates in Rawdon, Headingley, South Leeds
and Armley coming soon.
