About the Teams
Primary School Division
Blenheim Primary School:
Coached by John 'Tats Harkins, these inner city children came through
difficult circumstances to come and together and perform brilliantly
at the competition.
Little London Community Primary School:
Winners at the first ever 'Finding your wings' cheerleading competition,
Little London were coached by resident teacher and Aviator coach
John 'Tats' Harkins and Rachel Pearson. The school was so pleased
with the pupil's progress during the sessions that it found funding
to supply the children with uniforms, purchased through Aviator
Allstars.
Quarry Mount Primary School:
Coached by Becky Hughes and Amy Benville, these pupils did an outstanding
job of coming second despite having less than 2 months to prepare
for the competition.
Secondary School Division
Benton Park school:
Winners of the secondary schools competition, coached by Rachel
Pearson, Benton Park has been a particularly successful program.
This enthusiastic team had already competed at the Schools Sports
Partnership Regional Competition, where they won the award for Best
Upcoming Team. This also secured their place in the West Yorkshire
Youth Games Cheerleading Competition. Many of the members of the
school have also become part of the Undiscovered Talent Program.
Lawsnwood school:
Lawnswood's routine wowed the judges, prompting this elite unit
to win the Judges Choice Award for the outstanding creativity in
their routine, and their advanced stunting skills. Their coach Tim
Peffers was especially proud of their evolution as a team and attitude;
always pushing to learn more advanced skills each session.
